We are approved with many wholesale mortgage lenders and banks throughout the country, many of whom you will be familiar with. ERATE serves its mortgage customers by matching them with lenders who must provide their best rates because they are competing with other lenders in our network.

ERATE is comprised of mortgage loan experts at every level within the company. Our founders have over 40 years of mortgage origination expertise. The mortgage industry had been slow to automate and re-examine outdated pricing practices but a dramatic shift in technology advances via the internet has allowed for a sizable reduction in loan processing costs which can be passed onto the consumer. The founders of ERATE, Nancy Osborne and Jeff Howard, were eager to abandon the "old school" arbitrary mortgage origination practices and progress onto a rate and technology driven market that is consumer driven. In fact in 1992 Loan World, which later became ERATE when it merged with Progressive Capital, was the first mortgage lender to originate a mortgage over the Internet, and in 1994 created the first online loan application.
